Today, I marched in the Dutchess County St. Patrick's Parade. It was a fun time and I went with my Brownie Troop. As I was walking along the road, I noticed so many people having a wonderful time watching the parade. It was such a great event - there were tons and tons of people and lots of them were having parties. It was almost like tailgating before a big game.
What struck me was this - when was the last time I was at a St. Patrick's parade without a beer in my hand? Who am I? What have I become?

- Keeping yourself together when you're a mother is not easy. Being a mom is one of the best jobs and one of the worst. It's hard but fulfilling. It can be fun and it can be a chore. If you can laugh about your mistakes, they won't be so hard to handle and I laugh at myself all the time. I'm a city girl who moved to New York's mid-Hudson Valley over a decade ago. I'm the mom of two school-age girls who sometimes forget how cool I am. I'm a Christian. I'm a Girl Scout leader. I have two sisters - one older and one younger. I prefer tea to coffee and beer to wine. I'm a card-carrying member of the PTA, a single mom, full-time employee and freelance writer (not necessarily in that order).
